Still talking about realtionships :o)
Well Well I think it all started when I was about 3 years of age…
I vaguely remember myself yanking a puppy(I believe a Doberman) by the skin of its neck to brush its pearly white canines and molars, well that was hilarious at that time because I took the initiative for that :o).
Then after a long time and no contacts with much of the dogs (Rani- a pomerian cross breed at my native and others), I landed in Bangalore when my folks got transferred.
Here started my life among some nice dogs (there is no dearth of dogs in Bangalore).
The first of them was “Moti” a nice little German shepherd at my neighbors. He wouldn’t socialize much but time got the better of our relation :o). Then there was this stray/home dog named “Vicky“. A really stray mongrel. Well Vicky is a moody character.
He used to attack some of us for no good reason and at times used to ignore everyone. People never really understood when they should flee and when they shouldn’t :o). As time passed by ……..
I was the victim of this dog. He bit me one early cold morning when I was returning form the temple (which my mom was against for some particular reason on this particular day). His canine tooth sank into my right thigh (the scar remains) and I ran home but with no tears. After this incident he became one of my sworn enemies (Surprised?? A dog lover’s enemy is a dog!!!) Well this is what happened. One day I found him all alone and tied up in the open verandah of his nice house. Me n one of my neighbor’s kid ganged up and collected all sorts of stone n bricks (from the still under prepared road) went unto the terrace n showered it on this poor old Vicky. He sure did learn a lesson not to mess with me. The change that I saw in his attitude towards me was surprising as dogs live in the moment and they forget most of the things that happened in the past. The moment he sees me anywhere he just turns around n runs non-stop until he makes a turn on the next junction. He avoided me on every occasion. After this unexplained activity I became a hero of sorts because when anyone wanted to cross the path of Vicky I used to be called upon. Here is when my life as a animal behaviorist starts. It took a lot of time and Vicky’s age to slow him down and not run away from me anymore but the best part is I broke his biting habit by regularly discouraging him from it. This is when I realized how to break a dog’s habit (not by beating the hell out of it but to discouraging it). After he slowed down to a trot I moved close to him and guess what ?? he didn’t run away rather my cool calm assertiveness turned him to a docile lovable animal and the kids who used to run away followed my steps to befriend Vicky. The owners of this dog had and still have around 15 dogs on a constant basis in the most unhygienic and neglected conditions. Poor old Vicky died after some time due to disease as a direct result of this neglect. He was missed a lot by many of his haters and he was never heard of again.
During this whole period I found a stray bitch who was very balanced and she was also a part of me coming close to Vicky and others who hated me mutually :o).
Well in the next blog, I would love to mention about Moti and his fate.

Hey nice article again.
I agree, throwing stones is not the right way to stop an animal from doing what u dont want them to do. They too need love and affections. Its not as easy as we think to tame animals.
it is actually easier to tame if u know the pisscology of animal :o)
